The newest of Aurifil’s Cotton threads, Forty3 was introduced in Fall of 2017. It is a 40wt, 3ply thread made specifically to handle the rigor of today’s high-speed, high-tech Longarm machines. It has all the versatility and lustrous color of the original 40wt, with the added benefit of extra strength. This thread is perfect for longarm quilting to help ensure your quilt stands the test of time and washing.
100% Egyptian cotton thread made in Milan, Italy. The cotton is grown in the MAKO region of Egypt on the river Nile which grows the finest long staple cotton in the world. When considering the quality of cotton we can make the comparison to that of wine, different geographic areas offer different attributes to the raw material. Aurifil thread is long staple, which refers to the length of the fibers in the raw cotton Boll, the length of the fibers determine the quality of the cotton.
